AN
OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The Peace 2000 Institute
has for a number of years flown humanitarian aid to
children in war torn areas. Profits from Earthchild
help fly medical supplies, food and clothing to children
in desperate need, in addition to important conflict
prevention work. This work includes the production of
TV infomercials against violence, building a Peace
Center in Europe to teach refugees reconciliation and
peaceful community building, the launch of the Althing
Peace Assembly in Jerusalem and with the assistance of
former Prime Minister of Iceland building an alliance of
governments calling for an end to warfare.
The work of Peace 2000 has been recognized around the
world in particular for its Santa Peaceflights. The
organization has twice been the first to receive special
approvals by the United Nations Security Council to fly
Santa's aircraft loaded with humanitarian aid into war
zones, and has been awarded by UNESCO, the Greek
Orthodox Church and the Gandhi Foundation for its work.
But our biggest award are thousands of happier children.
